A pleasant lunch in the garden
KONSTMÄSTARGÅRDEN
At Konstmästargården, we serve fika as well as filling, delicious lunches to suit all our visitors, young and old. In our spacious garden, your four-legged friends are also welcome! The house was built in the early 1800s and was home to the mine master’s family.
The mine master was responsible for the mine’s pumping system. Sala Silver Mine’s most important mine master through the ages was named Schröder, and he is the one who designed the superstructure (the headframe) over the Christina Shaft, which you can see from the house.

Sustainability
A few words from the Head Chef
At Konstmästargården, we let vegetables remain natural and pure, which helps us care for both our crops and small-scale farming. We believe in letting the ingredients speak for themselves and creating dishes where flavours take centre stage.
Sustainability is a fundamental part of our philosophy. We always strive to minimise food waste and use every ingredient to its full potential before it reaches the compost. By making stocks from peelings and trimmings, and baking bread from leftover ingredients such as potatoes, carrots, lingonberries and dairy products, we maximise the resources in our kitchen.
Each visit with us is carefully planned according to the season’s selection of fish, meat, poultry and vegetables, to ensure that you always get the best flavours of every season.
