Where national roads 56 (from Västerås) and 70 (from Avesta and Dalarna or from Uppsala or Enköping) meet, at the roundabout at the Evelund interchange, follow the signs toward Sala Silvergruva. FIND YOUR WAY AROUND THE MINE AREA

Minerals were mined in the Sala Silver Mine for at least 500 years. During most of these centuries, the emphasis was on extracting the coveted silver for the Crown’s coinage, but lead, zinc, and dolomite were also mined here, the latter of which is still mined to this day.

CURRENT TOURS

We offer several wonderful ways to experience Sala Silver Mine. Exploring the mine on your own is an adventure for the whole family, where you can walk at your own pace through the 60-meter level. At the 155-meter level, we offer guided tours. If you wish to experience the mine’s full depth and history, the Grand Mine Tour is the obvious choice. A warm welcome to Sala Silver Mine!
